OHLA Hotel Summer Camp
What is the OHLA Hotel Summer Camp?The Ohio Hotel & Lodging Association (OHLA) Hotel Summer Camp is a 3-day/2-night high school program for junior and senior students looking for a career path, wanting to know more about the lodging/hospitality industry, and those who know this is a path they are interested in who want to learn more firsthand. Hotelier panels, Hospitality sessions, AHLEI Guest Service Gold Certification, tours, and evening activities.
OHLA’s Education & Workforce Development Committee is excited to announce its first-ever OHLA Hotel Summer Camp! During this intensive, fun, and interactive camp, students will stay at a hotel and experience:

The hotel industry offers an unparalleled setting to meet people from all walks of life and to experience new adventures every day. Many exciting avenues are available to hotel employees to achieve their personal and professional goals! The hotel industry career pathways include occupations within a variety of hotel departments, often with the same employer.

There is ample parking for normal-sized passenger vehicles in the hotel/convention center garage. Please inform Cindy Sams before the camp if you need school bus parking. When you arrive, please report to the hotel lobby for directions to the OHLA Hotel Summer Camp check-in table for camp materials and name tags. A secure storage area will be provided for participant luggage until the scheduled room check-in time. The camp will begin promptly at 9:00 AM, so please plan to arrive by 8:30 AM to park and check-in for the camp before 9:00 AM. Please note that breakfast is not provided on the first day of the camp. |

What To Pack

Students are asked to dress in business casual while participating in hotel summer camp activities. Business casual may include khaki pants/skirts or jeans (without any fraying or holes) and a collared shirt or women's blouse. Hotel conference rooms can often be chilly, so students are encouraged to bring a light sweater or jacket. Other items to pack are listed below:
